"China Clothing & Textiles Exposition" is an annual event sponsored by China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Textiles (CCCT), and has been successfully held seven times successively first in Sydney (2001, 2002) then Melbourne (2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007) of Australia. The exposition is targeted at the Australian & South pacific market with Chinese middle to high-end textiles and clothing. It is a professional Chinese textiles and clothing exposition with the largest scale and the highest standard in the south pacific area. In the year 2001, the first exposition held in Sydney caused quite a sensation among Australian textile and clothing industry and in media. Some distinguished guests such as Edward Gough Whitlam, former Australian Prime Minister and Gao Hucheng, Vice-Minister of China Ministry of Commerce have ever visited the exposition. In 2006, the exposition is renamed as "Clothing & Textiles Expo, Melbourne" because the exposition would have international area. Those manufacturers from Turkey, Pakistan, Vietnam, Hong Kong and Taiwan have shown great interests in this exposition that may help the exposition becoming an international show.
Advantages
Each exposition assembles nearly a hundred textiles and clothing export enterprises with outstanding exporting capacity and favorable reputation, which are located in nearly 20 different provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions in China. The exhibiting enterprises are not only textiles and clothing trading companies but also main producers from important textile and clothing producing areas. They represent the top level of Chinese textiles and clothing industry.
Features
The exhibiting area of the exposition reaches more than 4500 square meters. Exhibiting products include sportswear, beachwear, men's and women's fashion, evening dresses, fabrics, furnishing fabrics, suitcases, bags, shoes, and hats, etc. Some renowned Chinese clothing enterprises such as "Cathaya", "Sainty", "Erdos", "Youngor", and "Silique", take this chance to introduce their own brands to the Australian market, and to promote the newly designed products.
Functions and Objects
This exposition bears two functions, namely, order placement and information exchange. With our permanent objects and willing, in 2008, CCCT will continue to hold "Textiles & Clothing Expo" in Melbourne, and continue to make use of the very chance to help buyers and exporters reach their goals, and to promote the exchange and cooperation in the field of textiles and clothing between exporting countries and Australia.
